It's this time of year when we always see some huge reductions on refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers, as well as tempting low prices for lots of smaller items including coffee makers, vacuums, air fryers and more. All the big brands and retailers take part, too, including Samsung, Best Buy, Home Depot, Ninja, Dyson and more.

For everything else, you can follow our larger Labor Day sales hub for the latest news and keep it bookmarked as that's where we'll share all of the best deals from the event across all the most popular categories.

Today's best sales

There's still some time to go until we see the first of this year's Labor Day appliance sales. Chances are there will be early offers from a week or two before the holiday weekend. However, if you want to see what's available now then these are some of our top picks.

When will the sales start?

Labor Day falls on September 4 this year, but we're sure that the sales will start at least a week before.

We usually see appliance sales at the likes of Best Buy, Samsung and Home Depot around this time so keep your eyes peeled and check back in towards the end of August as we'll share the best offers as soon as they go live.

What deals should you expect?

To make things easier let's break the Labor Day sales into two parts: major appliances and small appliances.

Major appliances are where you should expect the best deals this September. We regularly see up to four-figure reductions across washers, dryers, fridges, freezers and dishwashers from all the popular brands such as Samsung, LG, Maytag and more. You can also get additional reductions of up to 30% when you buy bundles from the same manufacturer, so it's a smart time if you want to replace everything for a full kitchen upgrade.

There will still be deals on small appliances, but that's definitely not the focus of the Labor Day sales. However, if you want to add a new kitchen gadget to your countertop or make cleaning around the home a little easier with a robot vacuum then there will definitely be some decent deals up for grabs. Chances are there will be slightly bigger reductions come Black Friday, but it's still a good time to buy if you don't want to wait for later in the year.

Is Labor Day a good time to buy appliances?

Definitely. Holiday weekends such as Labor Day, Presidents' Day and 4th of July are some of the best times of the year to buy appliances - both major and small.

The best offers are on major appliances as retailers and manufacturers offer massive reductions of over $1,000 on some products and bonus discounts of anywhere between 10 - 30% when you buy multiple items at once. So, if any big purchases such as refrigerators, dishwashers, freezers, washers or dryers are on your shopping list then then Labor Day is absolutely an ideal time to buy to get some of the year's best deals.

When it comes to smaller appliances, there are certainly still dozens of good deals up for grabs, but we do regularly see prices fall even further towards the end of the year during Black Friday. Our advice? If there's a coffee maker, blender, air fryer, vacuum or other gadget you desperately need then it's a decent time to buy. However, your patience could be rewarded with an even bigger discount come November.
